NEMA WC2700 (MIL-C-27500) Cable Part Number Configuration

The M27500 Cable specification is commonly used to describe both shielded and unshielded cable constructions for avionics, aerospace and airframe applications. Circuit identification, conductor size, insulation type, number of conductors, shielding material and jacket type are specified using this document.

- C Preferred Method, Table 4A White wire with colored stripes per Table 4A. Wire 1 has no stripe. Wires 11-15 have double stripes.
F H Preferred Method, Table 4B White wire with colored stripes per Table 4B. Wire 5 has no stripe. For wires 11-15, insulation is first color, stripe is second color.
A D Optional Method A, Table 4A Solid Colored Wire(s). For cables that have more than ten inner wires, wire's 11-15 have a stripe in a lighter shade of base color. See Table 4A.
G J Optional Method A, Table 4B Solid Colored Wire(s). For cables that have more than ten inner wires, wire's 11-15 have a stripe in a lighter shade of base color. See Table 4B.
B E Optional Method B, Table 4C The insulation on each wire in the cable shall be the same solid color. The color shall denote wire size in accordance with Table 4C. In order to identify each wire in the cable, color bands shall be applied in accordance with Table 4D.
K M Optional Method C, Table 4C The insulation on each wire in the cable shall be the same solid color. The color shall denote wire size in accordance with Table 4C. In order to identify each wire in the cable, the use of numbers printed on the insulation of the primary wire shall be used.
L N Optional Method D The insulation on each wire in the cable shall be white or natural. In order to identify each wire within the cable, an identification number will be printed on the insulation of each wire. This printed would be over the existing print (Specification print, etc.).
U V for color codes specified by the procuring activity. The company designing or procurring the cable designates the color code of the inner wires.
